Finally, the Tory Government recognises that our schools are in financial crisis! New money is always welcome, even if very late. There is so much ground to make up, it won’t have the impact it would have done 4 years ago. It’s also a great shame for the cohorts allowed to go through school without this help. Two more considerations: if it comes through the existing channels in the academy system it will come very slowly. Also, since academies don’t show their accounts, how do we know they will spend this taxpayers’ money properly, in the light of the recent financial scandals?
